Leading the Practice
Andrew D. Ivers
Partner · Family Law
Andrew has spent his entire legal career building expertise that serves Mid-Valley families. Born and raised in Albany, he earned his Bachelor of Science in business before completing his Juris Doctor cum laude from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in Portland.
His path took him from Hewlett-Packard in Corvallis to a large national law firm in Houston, where he worked on multi-district class action labor and employment litigation. But the pull of home was strong. He returned to Oregon and the Willamette Valley in 2006, becoming a partner with Edward Daniels, who had been practicing law since 1973 and retired in 2018.
Today, Andrew specializes in all aspects of family law—divorce, separation, child custody, parenting time, and child support. He's appeared in 17 Oregon counties and brings both national-level litigation experience and deep local knowledge to every case.
Daniel W. Miller
Partner · Family Law
Dan's journey brought him back to his Corvallis roots after law school at the University of Oregon. He spent years serving local cities as a prosecutor before joining our practice, bringing deep understanding of how law works at the community level.
Dan began his legal career with a Corvallis law firm practicing local government law, then served as city prosecutor for multiple municipalities in the Mid-Valley. In 2016, he shifted his focus to family law, combining his courtroom experience with a passion for helping families navigate complex legal challenges.
His unique background as both prosecutor and family law attorney gives him a perspective that few lawyers in the valley can match—understanding both sides of the courtroom and how to effectively advocate for his clients.
Sarah Castleton
Partner · Estate Planning & Probate
Sarah Castleton brings 28 years of dedicated service to the Albany area, specializing in estate planning, probate, guardianships, and trust administration. Her decades of experience in these practice areas make her an invaluable resource for families planning for the future.
Beyond her legal practice, Sarah is deeply involved in the community, serving on the board of the Albany Safety Foundation and other local organizations. This commitment to service reflects the same values that drive her legal work—a genuine desire to help people protect what matters most.

Catherine M. Pratt
Attorney · Estate Planning & Civil Law
Catherine Pratt brings a versatile legal practice to the firm, handling landlord-tenant matters, contracts, deeds, estate planning, probate, and trust administration. Her broad expertise allows her to assist clients across a wide range of legal needs.
Before joining the firm, Catherine served as a Municipal Court prosecutor in Linn and Benton counties, giving her valuable courtroom experience and a thorough understanding of the local legal landscape. This prosecutorial background combined with her civil law practice makes her a well-rounded advocate for her clients.
Blossom Van Kinkle
Attorney · Construction, Real Property & Civil Litigation
Prior to law school, Blossom enjoyed working closely with clients domestically and abroad to develop their new products, troubleshoot existing products, and coordinate the varying details required for international commerce to nearly twenty-five countries. Helping clients find the best solutions to problems and figuring out how to prevent future issues has been Blossom's specialty in Oregon for more than twenty years.
Now she applies her personalized and effective approach to assisting clients navigate legal matters that arise in their professional or personal lives. She prioritizes and supports her clients by providing consistent, periodic communication and updates. And, while she is quite willing to take a matter to trial, when possible she helps clients find solutions before the need for a lawsuit arises to save them the stress and expense of litigation.
Oregon's beautiful green landscape near the mountains and ocean brought Blossom to the state in 2003. In her free time, Blossom enjoys hiking, gardening, cooking, road trips, some yoga, and always a good laugh.
Her practice areas include construction matters (defects, liens, contracts), real property (purchase and sale, land contracts, boundary disputes, deeds, easements), commercial and residential lease disputes, business formation and contract negotiation, and general civil litigation — including breach of contract, negligence, judgment enforcement, and other disputes among people and entities.
Mike Flinn
Attorney · Criminal Defense & Personal Injury
Mike Flinn brings nearly 30 years of criminal defense experience to the firm, making him one of the most seasoned defense attorneys in the Mid-Valley. His extensive courtroom experience spans decades of defending clients facing serious charges.
In addition to his criminal defense practice, Mike handles personal injury and DUI defense cases, bringing the same tenacious advocacy to every client. His deep experience in Oregon courts and his understanding of the criminal justice system make him a powerful advocate for anyone facing legal challenges.
F. James Healy
Of Counsel · Business & Corporate Law
F. James Healy ("Jim") has practiced law in Albany and the Mid-Willamette Valley since 1979 and is of counsel to the firm. He focuses on business and corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and complex commercial and ownership disputes.
Jim represents businesses across a broad range of industries, including agriculture, vineyards, wineries, telecommunications, trucking, construction, and other closely held enterprises. He advises clients at every stage of the business lifecycle, including business formation, contracts, day-to-day operations, ownership transitions, and succession planning.
He has substantial experience in merger and acquisition transactions, including complex deals involving both publicly traded acquirers and smaller privately held businesses. Some of the transactions he has handled have exceeded $10 million in value. He brings practical judgment and a clear understanding of the legal and business issues that arise when companies are bought, sold, merged, or restructured.
Jim also has extensive experience litigating complex business disputes. He has represented companies, shareholders, and LLC members in cases involving breach of fiduciary duty, minority owner oppression, and claims seeking judicial dissolution. He is prepared to take those matters to trial when necessary, but he also works to identify practical solutions through mediation and other means when doing so can save clients time, expense, and unnecessary worry while still protecting their business interests.
Jim has devoted substantial time to community and nonprofit leadership, serving on the Board of Directors of Central Willamette Credit Union since 1994 — including 16 years as Board Chair — and on the Board of Directors of Luckiamute Domestic Water Cooperative, a nonprofit water cooperative.
SafeHaven Humane Society has special meaning for Jim and his family. He and his wife have adopted both dogs and cats from SafeHaven and remain strong supporters of its mission as a no-kill animal shelter. Reflecting that commitment, Jim served as chair of SafeHaven's capital campaign, which helped fund the organization's transition to its current facility.
